Guide To Peugeot Spare Key: The Intermediate Guide For Peugeot Spare Key

How to Create a Peugeot Spare Key

Peugeot cars come with an immobiliser system unique to them. It depends on a chip in the key for it to function. When you insert the key into the ignition, it searches for this chip, and will turn on your car if it is found.

If you're having trouble with your keys, the best solution is to contact a professional auto locksmith. They'll have the latest technology and equipment to cut an entirely new key while you are waiting.

The key

The Peugeot car key is a cutting-edge piece of equipment. It has an electronic chip inside that communicates with the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) to allow the vehicle to start and open its doors. This means that only a locksmith equipped with the appropriate tools can make an extra Peugeot key.

This key replaces worn or damaged car key. Contrary to standard key blanks which are available from the internet or at certain hardware stores, Peugeot keys must be programmed to work in the specific vehicle you have. This means that the key must be cut according to the correct type, contain the correct transponder, and include other components. Additionally, it must be configured properly for the security system in your vehicle. A professional auto locksmith will perform all of this within the shortest amount of time.

Peugeot owners used to have to visit their dealer in order to obtain keys replacement. Although this is still an option in the event that you have the time and money to wait but it's not the best solution in the majority of cases. Dealerships lack the necessary equipment or expertise to handle Peugeot crucial emergencies at the roadside, at work or at home.

A mobile auto locksmith can be equipped to handle any emergency and can create a brand new Peugeot car key for you in record-breaking time. They can do this at just a fraction of what you would pay for a direct visit to the dealer.

You'll likely see a "transponder chip' in the key of an Peugeot model that's more recent. This is an additional layer of security that stops your vehicle from starting without a code received from the key. This is why it's impossible to duplicate the Peugeot key without the proper equipment and software.

This key will have the profile "JMA HU-HCA.P', which is the exact same as Silca HU83. This key is also available in the 106 and 107 models, along with the 206,208, 306 and 406 models. We have this key profile in stock and can cut this key for you, and also program it to your specific vehicle. The immobiliser

The immobiliser is among the most effective security features in a Peugeot car. It basically uses a tiny glass chip concealed within the key to protect against theft of the vehicle by stopping the engine turning on. The system is based on a complex program and doesn't require any sort of  battery  in order to function. It checks the coding of the chip each time a key is inserted into the ignition barrel, and the vehicle will only turn on if it recognises the chip. If not, fuel can be cut to stop the engine from starting.

This is a fantastic thing that has reduced the rate of car theft dramatically. But it does mean that brand new Peugeot keys aren't easy to obtain and you will need a specialist locksmith for this type of work. The specialist will employ standard tools from dealers to create the Peugeot key. He or she will also have to program it to allow the car to start. It could cost anything from 120 PS to 300 PS, depending on the model of the Peugeot and how complex the key is.

Peugeot keys are susceptible to wear and eventually fail, usually after five years. The electronic switches degrade when they are dropped, thrown and exposed to extreme temperatures. This results in tiny hairline cracks appearing on the circuit board and this causes the transponder signal to fail. This is the most common problem with the Peugeot key, and it is usually the cause of the car not starting or displaying an  Immobiliser Fault message on the dashboard.

If you lose your Peugeot spare key or it is stolen, you can contact an auto locksmith in your neighborhood to have it replaced. They can assist with a number of different automobile brands and be there for you, avoiding you from having to be towed back to their workshop or an auto dealer.

A professional can make and program the keys for about 120 PS, but they'll require the correct equipment to get your vehicle running. A lot of the cheap keys that are similar to those you purchase from eBay or Amazon do not contain the correct chips and this can lead to the key not working. These keys are manufactured in China and are not of good quality. It is best to purchase a dealer's key. It is important to have a backup plan in case you lose your key. This will ensure you get home safely or to the garage as soon as you can.
